Fun and games at the Arsenale

Our first Monday off we went to the Arsenale one of the main venues for the Biennale - it includes half of the curated exhibition and a few pavilions. As the name suggests the Arsenale was once Venice's defence factory of sorts - it was where ships and weapons were produced and led to Venice's power in times gone by.

A view of the gardens in the Arsenale - I like how a
campanile leans one way and the sign leans the other

Inside the Arsenale there is a massive section of water
and 'sheds' where they built ships. You can see a Navy
ship stored across the water here.

It took us most of a day to see the Arsenale and I literally took photos of every work so I can show them all to the other curators at QUT. Hence there will be many more posts, but for now a few fun photos of us playing in one of the outdoor sculpture works.

The artist of these works is Miranda July from USA.
