Mixed Bag of Photos

Above is a photo of the markets at Rialto - they are quite amazing. There are so many fresh fruit and veg stands and further on (under the building with the arches) are the seafood markets, which absolutely smell but are nonetheless intriguing. At some other markets near where we work a man had a stingray for sale the other day!

You can just see an edge of the Rialto bridge at the turn of the Grand Canal in this picture. To the right of the boat you can slightly see a flat area. This is where you can buy drinks from bars at night (they are under the building with arches) and then sit right along the edge of the canal and have a drink.

This cat lives in the building opposite us, up on the third floor. It likes to stick its head and front half of its body through the railings and rest its paws right on the edge of the balcony. I'm rather worried one day it might fall out, but I hope its hips are too big to get through! Venetian cats and dogs live on tiny balconies and have fights across the tiny streets, it's really quite funny.

My artistic photo of steps leading into the canal near out house.

This is the newly opened Morino Stucky Hilton which is across from where we catch the vaporetto.
